Spring is a time for renewal, and that includes your wardrobe and accessories! As the days get longer and the flowers start to bloom, it's the perfect time to ditch the heavy winter jewelry and embrace the lighter, brighter vibes of spring.
This season and I have a complicated relationship. Growing up in rural Connecticut, it remained very cold throughout March and April. I was usually freezing in my pretty Easter dresses! As a young adult, I moved to Boston and continued experiencing the slow thaw of the earth—and as someone with seasonal blues, it was very hard. Something that made it tougher was actually working in the fashion industry as a buyer. I would see spring styles months in advance, and when they started to arrive in my boutique, the weather was still not ripe to enjoy them! It has taken many years of reflection to appreciate the gradual transition into warmer weather. Now I view the extra time as as a window to prepare for the hustle and bustle that comes along with those magical warmer seasons.
Here are some ways you can embrace the spring season through jewelry.
Embrace the Colors of the Season
Spring is all about fresh starts, and that's reflected in the vibrant colors of the season. Think pastel pinks, blues, and greens. You can incorporate these colors into your jewelry. The golden glow of sunshine is perfectly reflected in our 14k gold filled jewelry.
Floral Fever
Flowers are a quintessential symbol of spring, so it's no surprise that they're a popular motif in spring jewelry. At Kaylie Dawn, we didn't interpret this trend literally. Florals are found in the gemstone selection, most notably our "garden" color option, which is made of all the colors you might see in your garden: rosy pink, fresh tonal green, and natural brown. A floral motif adds a touch of femininity and whimsy to any outfit.
Light and Layered
Admittedly, we believe in this year-round, but spring is a wonderful time for embracing a lighter, more carefree look. Shedding layers of clothing (and for me, those winter blues) extends to shedding heavy jewelry. Opt for delicate necklaces and bohemian stacked bracelets. Layering multiple pieces is a great way to create a unique and personalized look. It also shows personal styles and is bound to attract genuine compliments.
As you transition your wardrobe to spring, don't forget to give your jewelry box a refresh as well. Take out your winter pieces and pack them away. This is also a great time to clean and polish your jewelry so it sparkles and shines.
With a little creativity, you can easily incorporate spring trends into your jewelry collection. So ditch the winter blues and embrace the bright and beautiful vibes of the season!
